Sometimes in life you just get stuck in a rut. It’s normal and it happens to everyone. It’s how we handle this stagnation or complacency that ultimately helps shape who we are as people. Change is the only constant in this world, so it’s best to learn how to go with the flow of things as many people say.
A good thing to remember is how boring life would be if nothing ever changed. It’s not something you want for the world and it’s definitely not something you want for yourself.
So, embrace change with open arms, know that you will adapt and overcome whatever lies ahead of you, and remember these five thinkings.
LEARNING HOW TO BE VUNERABLE IS THE FIRST STEP
No one likes feeling vulnerable, but vulnerability is at the core of achieving a healthy self-confidence. The difficulty comes in finding balance between one’s ego and one’s spirit. The ego wants you to hold onto control and comfortability, while the spirit is telling you to let go.
FOCUS ON THE JOURNEY, NOT YOUR DESTINATION
When you we start to dwell on the past or the future, we’re not truly living in the present. While it is great to have goals, it is ultimately the process of achieving the goals that we set that is the most important. It is what we learn on our way to success. Learning is one thing that inherently makes every human being happy, so if you’re not experiencing new things and growing and learning, you start to suffer.
Just know that you are where you need to be.
LEARN WHEN TAKING A RISK IS HEALTHY FOR YOU
Are you the type of person who hates thinking about “what if” situations? Or are you too worried about regretting the decisions you make? Taking risks in life is incredibly hard because there is no certainty. But, once you accept that you will always have options, regardless of what decision you make, the world opens up to you. You can never know anything for certain unless you try it, right? Don’t be afraid to take risks.
LEARN TO TRUST IN YOURSELF
You are the only person who truly knows what is best for you, so don’t try to fight it. Figure out what it is in this world that you want and go after it. Sometimes things will blow up and get wrecked along the way, but in time you will realize that everything happened for a reason and that you’re better off because of it.
ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ARE STUCK SOMETIMES
If you’re stagnant right now and want nothing more than to not be stagnant, forcing yourself out of this spot can be dangerous. Sometimes it’s necessary to just be stuck for a little while. Rocking the boat just to stir things up in your life might seem like a good idea at the time, but it can often do more damage than good. Give the universe time to get you started back on the path you need to be on.
The best mindset to have, regardless of where you are in life at the moment, is one of gratitude. When you accept life for how it is and remain grateful for all that you have, you can’t help but cultivate positivity. Know that life will work itself out and that you are where you need to be.
